Abstract:

Currently security is one of the hot topics in IT.
And PAM is a critical component in the security framework of Informix.
By now, most users understand what PAM can do, but most of them don't understand how it works and the possibilities it opens.
This presentation will guide you through the basic concepts behind PAM and from there we'll dive deeply in it.
Uncommon use cases will be presented like two factor authentication, module development, cross database queries and it's unprovable relation to the DNS system.
Current limitations and possible improvements will also be presented for discussion.
